The City of Lowell is seeking qualified, experienced, and energetic candidates for the position of Associate Transportation Planner within the Department of Planning and Development. This position reports to the Transportation Engineer and is responsible for assisting the Transportation Engineer in addressing and improving transportation systems in the City of Lowell. The Associate Transportation Planner will work closely with the Transportation Engineer to plan for a transportation system that is safe, comfortable, and convenient for Lowell. This position will plan for an inclusive transportation system that is implemented though tactile installations, regular roadway improvements, and major construction projects. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Urban Planning or related field required. 2-3 years’ experience required. Demonstrated graphic and project management skills required. Knowledge of GIS and its applications required. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite software, or other graphic software strongly preferred. Working knowledge of VISSIM, Synchro, or other traffic simulation programs preferred. Salary ranges from $78,001.15 (min) to $85,849.65 (max) annually. 35 hours per week.
