Budget Analyst

The New Bedford Public Schools is seeking a Budget Analyst to be an integral part of the Finance and Operations team.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations, the Budget Analyst will assist in planning, coordinating and monitoring of all the budgetary aspects of the school department operating budget and special revenue funds.

Essential Tasks (included but limited to):

• Assist in monitoring, analyzing and reporting financial data
• Provides vital layer of position control monitoring
• Provides business office support for end of year reporting, Medicaid reporting, and numerous other state or municipal reporting requirements
• Monitor school and department budgets
• Review and analyze budget transfer requests to evaluate availability of funds and budgetary impacts; enter budget transfers into financial system
• Review statements of expenditures and encumbrances compared to budget on a monthly basis for accuracy and make recommendations for budget adjustments as needed
