The town of Maynard, a MetroWest community of just under 11,000 residents with a vibrant and expanding economic base, is in search of a qualified, highly motivated, and compassionate candidate to serve as our next Chief Assessor! The position is full-time (40 hours per week).
Responsible for professional, administrative, technical, participative, and supervisory work related to the valuation and re-valuation of all residential, industrial, and commercial real estate and personal property within the town in accordance with Department of Revenue regulations and related Massachusetts General Laws. Provides related financial information, analysis, and consultation for the Finance Team, as well as the Board of Assessors for policy direction of the Assessing department.
Bachelor’s degree required in business or another related field. Five years’ experience in real estate, appraisal, or other related area or three years in a municipal assessing or equivalent combination of education and experience required. MMA Certification preferred. Must pass CORI check.
