Job Description

The town of Reading is accepting applications for the position of Collector in the Finance department.

This role performs a variety of administrative and technical financial functions involved in the oversight of the Collection of the town’s taxes and fees. Supervises the daily operations of the Collector’s Office to ensure excellent customer service is provided to taxpayers within the town.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in finance or a closely related field; and
  2. Ten years of progressively responsible finance work (municipal experience preferred); or
  3. Any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year for year basis.

Expected Hiring Rate 
$78,819 – $92,742 annually

Work Hours
This is a full time position with typically 37.5 hours per week. 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesdays. Town Hall is closed on Fridays.
