Job Description

The city of New Bedford Fire department is seeking a Data and Performance Manager to establish and lead our data analytics program and oversee incident reporting systems. This role requires a self-motivated professional who can independently build comprehensive data management systems from the ground up. You will:

• Oversee incident reporting accuracy and compliance, manage transition from NFIRS to NERIS
• Perform data extraction, cleaning, and visualization to support decision-making
• Create GIS maps and spatial analyses for risk assessment and resource deployment
• Develop performance dashboards and key performance indicators to monitor trends and enhance service delivery
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to improve analytics and operational workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, computer science, or a related field
• Three-plus years’ experience in data analytics and GIS applications
• Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS), Excel, and data visualization tools
• Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills
