The city of Somerville is seeking a Director of Finance and Administration for the department of Public Works (DPW). The employee is responsible for overseeing all administrative, financial, and customer service operations. This includes managing accounting, payroll, budgeting, and procurement functions while ensuring compliance with our policies and procedures. The employee provides financial analysis and reporting on departmental activities, coordinates vendor contracts and purchasing strategies, and supports the development of departmental policies and controls. They work closely with the Director of Operations, Divisional Superintendents, and other departments to ensure efficient fiscal management and operational effectiveness. The employee is also required to perform other similar or related duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance and seven years experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Hours: Full-Time
Salary: $110,000 annually plus benefits
Union: Non-Union
FLSA: Exempt
