Brookline DPW is seeking to fill new Business Manager roles in its Central Administrative office and in the Highway, Sanitation, and Fleet Services division. These roles are detail-driven and service‑oriented hands‑on positions that oversee the central business operations of their respective divisions.
The Business Manager is responsible for delivering high‑quality customer service, managing administrative workflows, and ensuring accurate and efficient financial and program operations. Both roles contribute to departmental communications, technology systems, onboarding/offboarding, and emergency response support; and perform other duties as required.
The Central Administration Business Manager supports department‑wide business functions, including customer service office management, financial processing, utility account oversight, contract administration, budget preparation, and staff supervision. $39.16 hourly/37.5 hours weekly
The Highway, Sanitation and Fleet Services Business Manager manages division-specific business operations such as sanitation billing, account administration, invoicing, purchasing, budget reporting, permit processing, cart inventory, and operational coordination. $36.71 hourly/40 hours weekly
