The Executive Assistant to the Town Manager provides high-level administrative and professional support to the Town Manager, Assistant Town Managers, and Select Board, ensuring the seamless operation of Shrewsbury’s Office of the Select Board and Town Manager. Serving as a trusted partner and strategic resource, the Executive Assistant plays a highly visible and vital role in the governance of the town.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of a vibrant, growing community of more than 38,000 residents. The Executive Assistant will be at the center of Shrewsbury’s commitment to responsive, transparent, and collaborative local government, working in a fast-paced environment where professionalism, adaptability, and initiative are highly valued.
Key job duties include facilitating select board operations, managing board and committee appointments, administering select board licensing, leading customer service for the office, proving executive support, stewarding records and publications, and supporting payroll and AP for the office.
We are seeking candidates who bring four-plus years of senior executive support (municipal and public sector experience preferred), working knowledge of open meeting law and public records, sound judgment, and excellent writing & attention to detail.

Hiring Range: $68,000 – $72,000 annually (DOQ)
