The town of Boxford is accepting applications for a full-time Firefighter/EMT to join the Boxford Fire department. This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a passion for serving the community. Boxford operates a combination department with five paid staff and 42 on-call firefighters, responding to over 1,000 calls annually. The department functions as a non-transporting ambulance service. This is a union position with the Boxford Professional Fire Fighters, Local 5305, International Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO. The current contract is effective from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2026.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Applicants must have or be able to obtain the following:
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid Massachusetts EMT-Basic certification
• Valid Professional Rescuer CPR card
• Massachusetts Certified Firefighter I/II
• Hazmat OLR
• ICS 700, 100b, 200b
Health Screening Requirements:
Candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug test, psychological exam, and the Massachusetts Civil Service Physical Abilities Test.
Schedule:
Current schedule includes three 12-hour shifts and one eight-hour shift every other week. Weekends and holidays off. Schedule is subject to change.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary range: $60,929.17 to $72,815.99 based on experience. The position is eligible for overtime. Benefits include holiday pay, 80 hours vacation and 32 hours personal time, Health, Dental and Vision insurance plus other optional opt-in benefits.
