Campton, NH ( 3,300) seeks experienced individual with heavy equipment, road maintenance, winter ops, and project management to serve as its Highway Department Manager. This position oversees and directs the activities of the Highway Department, which is comprised of a foreman, three operators and two seasonal employees. The department’s operating budget is approximately $900k and an additional $819k for equipment acquisition and road improvement. The position reports to a five-member Board of Selectmen through the Town Administrator, under the traditional town meeting form of government.
Experience in supervising others, the operation of heavy equipment, knowledge of best practices in road maintenance, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
A full-time position eligible for overtime, the successful candidate must live within a reasonable commute from Campton, given the need for a timely response in critical situations. The top of the salary range is $85,000 not including overtime; starting salary commensurate with qualifications. Excellent benefits, including participation in the New Hampshire Retirement System.
