Job Description

The city of Cambridge is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator who provides administrative support for all Human Resources (HR) and Payroll functions of the Library. Manages weekly payroll and related functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while maintaining records and reconciling data in HRIS (PeopleSoft). Administers paid and unpaid leave, calculating accruals, resolving discrepancies, and submitting adjustments. Supports HR and Payroll operations by generating and analyzing HRIS data. Acts as liaison with the city Payroll and HR departments to ensure compliance with policies and union contracts. Completes HR paperwork, assists with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, background checks, and new hire orientations. Coordinates reimbursements, staff training, and events including Staff Development Day and Appreciation Dinner. Produces weekly staff e-newsletter and provides executive support to the Assistant Director. Maintains personnel files, handles employment verifications, and responds to staff inquiries. Manages scheduling and coverage for staff absences, reviews time-off requests, and helps resolve service issues. Supports union contract implementation and stays current on relevant laws. Continuously seeks operational improvements to enhance service and efficiency across departments. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and one to two years of human resources and/or payroll administrative experience.

Rate: $67,627.99 – $84,487.83 annually
