Come join our dynamic team! The city of Newton is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Manager of Police Information Technology (IT). The purpose of this important and integral position on the city’s public safety team, requiring 24/7 accessibility and the development of a continuous operations plan that allows for constant services, operations and access, including being available during city and department emergency operations where Police department IT needs are critical; responsible for the oversight and efficient operations of the Newton Police department’s information and technology systems and strategy, data communications network and record management systems; responsible for analyzing and solving complex network, communication, database, and computer issues, responsible for the development and continued operation of all department related software, computer applications and other information technology platforms and needs; responsible for recommending to the Chief of Police changes or enhancements regarding Department information technology policy, practices, platforms, and systems, and is responsible for the coordination of any training that may be needed throughout the department on such programs; responsible for the immediate supervision and control of personnel assigned to the department’s IT unit including ensuring employee performance; and all other related work as required and directed. This is a full-time, exempt position, hiring salary range: $121,116 – $136,436 annually plus yearly step increases, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to be a part of our team of dedicated public servants.
