The town of Mattapoisett is seeking highly motivated and qualified applicants for the position of Natural Resource Officer.
Mattapoisett is a small, coastal community in Southeastern Massachusetts with an annual operating budget of approximately $34 million.
The Natural Resource Officer protects public safety and animal welfare by enforcing town by-laws and applicable state laws. This includes regulating and inspecting animals. They also ensure compliance with the town’s Shellfish Conservation Ordinance and other marine resource laws, working closely with Environmental Police and Municipal Law Enforcement. The officer must observe all safety regulations and procedures while maintaining professional standards in all situations.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest in animal and marine-related activities, able to enforce local laws and ordinances and must be available to respond to emergencies.
This is a full-time, in person position, 40 hours/week with a salary range of $47,500.00 -$58,500.00.
