Permitting/Program Assistant

The town of Westford seeks qualified candidates for a full-time Permitting/Program Assistant who can thrive in a busy and fast-paced environment. Under the direction of the Assistant Town Manager – Land Use and Economic Development, this benefitted non-exempt position performs both administrative and complex duties related to the Permitting Office, with an emphasis on the Conservation, Planning, and Zoning Departments, with back-up to the Building Department as needed. The Permitting Office is currently working on some unique projects including several MBTA Communities housing proposals, various land use planning studies including the Route 40 Corridor Study, a Graniteville Neighborhood Study, and a Pedestrian Master Plan for the Littleton Road Corridor. The successful candidate will be positive, exercise discretion, and possess strong communication and customer service skills. This position requires high levels of organization, time management, customer service, integrity, and attention to detail. Must be skilled in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with MUNIS Systems is desirable. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and/or five years of relevant experience is required. The anticipated hiring range is from $67,836 to $73,050, depending on qualifications and experience. Priority consideration will be given for applications received by July 16.
