Sewer Craftsman/CDL

Job Description

The town of Norwood is seeking a skilled and reliable individual to perform equipment operation and manual labor in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the municipal sewer system.

Job Functions:*

• Perform construction and maintenance of the sewer system, including excavating and backfilling trenches and repairing sewer lines.
• Determine and perform appropriate corrective actions during emergencies
• Respond to customer questions and complaints, and makes necessary repairs.
• Replace broken or worn system parts, digs, braces, and backfills as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and sewer facilities, and remain available for emergency situations.
• Snow removal operations.

Requirements:

• High school diploma and three years of public works and heavy equipment operation experience, or equivalent.
• A valid CDL is required; Tanker Endorsement and Hydraulic License preferred.
• Candidates must be physically capable of performing strenuous labor, operating equipment, and navigating construction sites.
