Job Description

The town of Granby is seeking a Town Accountant. Municipal experience preferred. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of financial accounting principles and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The position is part-time, up to 15 hours per week. Compensation depending on qualifications with a range of $20.95-38.76 per hour. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support corporate finance initiatives.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in financial software applications
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
