The town of Whately is accepting applications for Town Accountant. The Accountant audits bills, determines the legality of expenses, prepares vendor and payroll warrants, posts to the general ledger, prepares monthly reports of revenues and expenditures, aids in budget administration, trial balances, and prepares related reports and end of the year balance sheet. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and a minimum of five years of responsible experience in accounting or financial management; experience in municipal accounting strongly preferred.
