Chatham is accepting applications for a Heavy Equipment Operator in the DPW Highway division.
The Heavy Equipment Operator performs all functions within the Highway division including skilled and unskilled labor; operation of heavy machinery, work related to installation and maintenance of drainage systems resurfacing roads and sidewalks, maintaining roadside visibility and signage, street cleaning and re-landscaping after construction projects.
This position participates in snow removal; plowing and sanding. Callbacks and overtime for weather related and state of emergency operations are mandatory.
Duties require frequent and extended periods of outside work, subject to all weather conditions and extremes. Physical requirements include continuous walking, standing, climbing and regular and sustained periods of physical exertion. Must be able to lift 100lbs.

Position is 40 hours per week with overtime potential. Starting annual wage of $59,841.60 – $62,254.40 ($28.77 – $29.93/hour) depending on qualifications and experience. Position is benefits and pension eligible.
