The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is holding a series of public hearings this month on its five-year capital investment plan.
Consistent with requirements laid out in Chapter 25 of the Acts of 2009 (An Act Modernizing the Transportation System of the Commonwealth), the MassDOT is preparing a five-year capital investment plan for the Highway Division.
The plan will include an analysis of the planned sources and uses of funding to be invested in the roads, bridges, bicycle/pedestrian facilities, and ancillary infrastructure of Massachusetts.
Public hearings will be held on the following schedule:
• May 17, 6-7:30 p.m., Council Chambers, Municipal Hall, 212 Main St., Northampton
• May 18, 5:30-7 p.m., Berkshire Regional Planning Commission, 1 Fenn St., Suite 201, Pittsfield
• May 19, 6-7:30 p.m., Quincy New City Hall, Foy Conference Room, 2nd floor, 1305 Hancock St., Qunicy
• May 25, 6-7:30 p.m., Framingham Town Hall (Memorial Building), 150 Concord St., Framingham
The capital investment plan will also be on the agenda for a MassDOT community forum on May 18, 6-7:30 p.m., at Lowell City Hall. The forum is not a public hearing, but it will assist MassDOT with public input from that area.
