The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has opened the application window for fiscal 2027 Round 1 through its Grant Central Fully Integrated Application, with a deadline of Aug. 7.
The Fully Integrated Application is an all-in-one funding request portal used for all of the MassDOT Highway Division’s competitive grant programs (Community Culvert, Complete Streets, Local Bottleneck Reduction, Municipal Small Bridge, Shared Streets and Spaces). Applications may be submitted twice per fiscal year. The FIA does not apply to the Chapter 90 or the Municipal Pavement Program.
MassDOT is highlighting a new funding opportunity in this round, aimed at supporting municipalities interested in expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Grant funding under the new EV initiative may be used to support planning and design; installation of EV charging infrastructure; eligible site improvements; and utility upgrades.
Applications submitted for this funding round will receive additional consideration based on the following criteria:
• Project readiness
• Equity
• Geographic distribution
• Completion of a Step Zero analysis or similar planning effort
Applications can be accessed, completed and submitted through MassDOT’s Grant Central Fully Integrated Application Portal.
Questions regarding project eligibility or the application process may be directed to MassDOT’s Community Grants Group at [email protected].
