The Massachusetts Department of Transporation will hold a climate change workshop on June 14, with an executive session on the morning of June 15.

The workshop will be held in conference room 120 at the John Volpe National Transportation System Center, 55 Broadway, in Cambridge.

The workshop, sponsored by AASHTO/FHWA, wiil discuss trends in global climate change and its impact on transportation.

Participants will be provided with comprehensive, cutting-edge information and resources on climate change, including a two-hour segment specifically designed to help MassDOT identify and/or promote initiatives within Massachusetts to support: state legislation (e.g., Massachusetts Global Warming Solutions Act), executive orders, MassDOT policies, and federal climate change initiatives.

Participants will also discuss emerging new planning requirements at the state and federal level.

The Executive Session on day two will brief transportation leaders on the workshop discussion/outcomes.
