On June 4-5 in Worcester, the Massachusetts Housing Partnership will hold its 18th Housing Institute, which features discussions and problem-solving activities around affordable housing development.
The Housing Institute is designed for municipal officials, employees, volunteers, and advocates interested in the creation and preservation of affordable housing in their communities.
The institute will begin with a fireside chat with Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell and Greg Reibman, president and CEO of the Charles River Regional Chamber.
Housing and Livable Communities Secretary Ed Augustus will present Housing Hero Awards during a luncheon on the second day.
The event will also offer discussions with state officials and housing advocates, as well as breakout sessions covering modular housing, accessory dwelling units, housing production on public land, accelerating communities’ housing supplies, affordable housing finance 101, intergenerational housing needs and public engagement, among other topics.
There’s also an optional walk in Worcester’s Canal District and Union Hill neighborhoods, and site visits to nearby housing developments on June 4.
The event will be held at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The cost is $100 per day, or $175 for both days.
Visit the event website to register or for more information. Registration closes on May 26.
