MIIA awarded $3.4 million to its members in fiscal 2018 through the MIIA Rewards program, which has earned MIIA members more than $32 million in premium credits since its inception in 2003.

MIIA Rewards allows members to earn premium credits to support their pursuit of effective risk management strategies.

This year’s program has two primary Rewards categories, designed to give members more flexibility in earning credits: Training, and Risk Management Best Practices. A third category – Additional Activities – has been added in case a new municipal risk management issue develops during the year.

MIIA has increased its trainings, grants and best practices offerings this year to focus on facilities management and support for the state law, due to take effect in February, that will apply standards set in the Occupational Safety and Health Act to all state and local government workers.

These new offerings include:
• OSHA topic review webinars
• Health management safety trainings through the OSHA Education Institute
• Customized risk management consultation and program development

MIIA members should submit Rewards-eligible documentation to their MIIA Risk Manager or to miiarewards@mma.org when the initiatives have been completed. All documentation for the Rewards program must be submitted by May 24, 2019.
