Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
The chief municipal officials in all 351 Massachusetts cities and towns were sent an introductory letter in April, as the MMA has begun the process of gathering current information from municipalities for the 2017-2018 edition of the Massachusetts Municipal Directory, a comprehensive resource for connecting with colleagues.
Towns that held their spring election in March or April, along with cities, have already received an email with a link, username and password for updating the community’s information using a convenient online tool. The remaining towns will receive the email within weeks of their spring election.
The online form is pre-populated with the personnel information currently on file with the MMA and only takes a few minutes to update by the person most familiar with a city or town’s personnel. Officials are asked to provide those updates as soon as they receive the email with their login information.
The MMA’s annual directory includes listings of local officials and contact information, as well as demographic and financial data, for all of the state’s cities and towns. There are also sections devoted to regional school districts, state and federal government, and government-related professional organizations, as well as a guide to products and services of interest to city and town officials.
The new edition of the directory will be published in August.
