The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs is soliciting applications for grants and low-interest loans under the new, $20 million Dam and Coastal and Inland Flooding Infrastructure Program.

Applicants are advised to submit “shovel-ready” projects that provide public safety and environmental benefits. The due date for proposals is Aug. 29.

Priority criteria are likely to include: improving public health and safety; protection of public property; designing for consideration of climate change impacts; improving natural systems; and reducing threats to native animal and plant species.

The $20 million fund will be split evenly between dams and flooding infrastructure.
