U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg

The office of U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is seeking applications for the newly re-established Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity.

Those with expertise in related areas such as transportation equity in planning and policy, or at the intersections of civil rights, housing, health care, disability access, small business, and environmental justice are encouraged to apply.

A letter of interest and statement of qualifications (such as a resume) must be submitted by June 15 to both portia.allenkyle@dot.gov and equity@dot.gov.

First formed in 2016, the Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity provides independent advice and recommendations to the secretary regarding civil rights and transportation equity in the context of planning, design, research, policy and advocacy. The committee will include up to 25 members with a balanced representation of equity practitioners from academia, community groups, business, non-government organizations, state, local and tribal governments, disability and veteran organizations, and indigenous groups.

The committee will undertake tasks assigned to it by the secretary and is expected to meet quarterly.
