A virtual meeting hosted by the New England chapter of the American Society for Public Administration and Suffolk University on Oct. 30 will offer information about careers in state and local government and insights on finding work and thriving in the public sector.

The free, interactive, hour-long “lunch and learn” session will begin at noon and feature five panelists who are involved in hiring for government roles:
• Bernie Lynch, founder and managing principal of Community Paradigm Associates, and a former city manager in Lowell and town manager in Chelmsford

• Scott Morelli, city manager of South Portland, Maine, who previously held municipal management roles in Framingham and in Waterboro, Maine

• Lisa Adams, director of the Massachusetts Human Resources Division’s Investigations Center of Expertise, and a former senior legislative analyst at the MMA

• Ann Hess Braga, director of human resources for the town of Brookline, who previously served for 23 years in leadership roles for the city of Boston

• Jon Frederick, town manager of Jaffrey, New Hampshire, who previously served in municipal roles in both Maine and New Hampshire
