Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Thirty-eight Massachusetts cities elected mayors yesterday, with 26 incumbents getting re-elected while 12 new mayors will be joining their ranks.
Incumbents were re-elected in Agawam, Amesbury, Attleboro, Beverly, Braintree, Brockton, Chicopee, Easthampton, Everett, Fall River, Fitchburg, Gardner, Gloucester, Haverhill, Leominster, Medford, Melrose, Newburyport, North Adams, Quincy, Somerville, Springfield, Waltham, Westfield, Weymouth, and Woburn.
The new mayors are the following:

The mayoral race in Methuen was extremely close, and a recount is expected.
Mayors in five cities – Boston, Lawrence, Lynn, Newton, and Salem – have two years left on their terms and were not on the ballot.
The mayors of Cambridge and Lowell will be chosen by their respective city councils in January.
Greenfield will hold its mayoral election next June.
Eight communities with a city form of government – Barnstable, Chelsea, Franklin, Palmer, Randolph, Southbridge, Watertown and Winthrop – do not have mayors.
