While we all focus on responding to the COVID-19 public health crisis, cyber criminals continue to operate, making it crucial that cities and towns continue to think about cybersecurity as a critical element of municipal safety.

We have already seen the circulation of malware links purporting to be related to important COVID-19 information. Security concerns have been enhanced as municipalities transition to remote operations.

With these concerns in mind, MMA will host a one hour cybersecurity webinar for all elected and appointed municipal officials.

Stephanie Helm, Director of MassCyberCenter at the MassTech Collaborative, and Ron Ford, Regional Cybersecurity Advisor for New England at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, will provide participants with the information and tools they need to ensure their communities are prepared with a strong defense system and a planned response against cyber threats.

The webinar is free to attend, but you must register. We will be using Zoom and because of the number of participants we will not be taking questions verbally. You will be able to ask questions via the Q&A function, or you can send questions ahead of time by replying to this email. In order to use the Q&A, you will need to be logged into the Zoom app either on your computer or on a tablet or smartphone.

Advanced registration is required. Please contact Isabelle Nichols at the MMA to register.
