Massachusetts Municipal Personnel Association invites members with five or fewer years of service to the sixth annual HR101 “human resources boot camp” on May 16 at the Wylie Inn and Conference Center in Beverly.

The full-day training covers core functions of the municipal HR office, including hiring, termination and interview skills, performance evaluation and improvement plan best practices, and crash courses on policies such as code of conduct, workplace violence, paid leave policies such as Massachusetts General Law 111F, and HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

The event is geared toward newer municipal human resources professionals, but veterans in the field are welcome to attend for a refresher course.

The registration fee is $75 for members and $100 for nonmembers.
