Topic: The Future of Public Meetings
Jamie Hellen, Franklin Town Administrator
Denise Dembkoski, Stow Town Administrator
The Massachusetts Select Board Association will hold its annual leadership conference as a webinar series for the second year in a row.
The four-session series will be held on June 16 and 30 and July 14 and 28. All of the webinars will be held from noon to 1 p.m.
The Leadership Conference series will feature sessions geared toward both newly elected and more experienced select board members.
The final Leadership Conference session on July 28 will focus on the future of public meetings, including a discussion of best practices for virtual and hybrid meetings. Franklin Town Administrator Jamie Hellen and Stow Town Administrator Denise Dembkoski will share how their communities have been able to transition to a hybrid format for public meetings. Both speakers will cover topics like technology, room set-up, funding/partnerships, and any lessons learned since they have started hosting hybrid meetings. This session will be aimed at select board members of all experience levels.
The Leadership Conference webinar series is free, but advance registration is required for each webinar. Zoom registration information for the June 16 session was sent to all select board members by email in mid-May. Registration links for the remaining sessions will be sent after the conclusion of each previous session.
