Department: Law

Employment Status: Non-exempt, Chapter 7 Ordinance, full-time

(40 Hours/Week)

Pay Range: Grade 06: Step 01 – $22.89/Hour or Step 02 – $23.45/Hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Certifications/Licenses Required: High school diploma or equivalent

The city of Chicopee’s Law department is hiring a Paralegal who will be responsible for supporting attorneys with handling of cases in suit, non-litigation matters, and special projects. These include but are not limited to: assisting attorneys with managing individual cases, drafting legal documents, performing legal research, assisting attorneys with preparing cases for oral arguments and trials, drafting witness and document subpoenas, drafting discovery mid responses to discovery requests, communicating with other city departments mid outside counsel, tracking compliance with litigation deadlines, coordinating meetings, and other related duties as required.
