The Small Town of Administrators of Massachusetts held a meeting via Zoom on May 29 to discuss the one-twelfth budget process.

Hadley Town Administrator David Nixon discussed his process – from development to Board of Selectmen approval – for the town’s first one-twelfth budget.

The Division of Local Services will begin accepting these budget proposals on June 1.

Questions included how to address free cash, contract and union obligations, cost-of-living adjustments, regional school spending, capital projects and pension payments.

More than 100 members participated in the meeting.
