The Certificate in Local Government Leadership and Management program developed by the MMA and Suffolk University will be held in Littleton and Barnstable during the 2019-2020 academic year.

These will be the 13th and 14th sessions of the certificate program, which started in Natick in 2011. The Littleton offering will be the first one held in the north-central region of the state, while three sessions have been held in Barnstable previously.

The MMA-Suffolk certificate program is designed exclusively for municipal employees interested in furthering their careers in local government. Classes are held over the course of 25 Fridays throughout the academic year. Course topics include budgeting and financial management, challenges in human resources management, and strategic leadership.

By the end of the current academic year, 250 students will have graduated from the program.

There is a competitive application process for the MMA-Suffolk program. Applications will be available on the MMA website on or around Feb. 1, and the application period closes on April 30.
