MMA to hold Legislative Breakfast Meetings Oct. 16, 23, 30

The MMA will hold its fall series of Legislative Breakfast Meetings next month in Great Barrington, Leicester, Lowell, Needham, Northampton and Westport.

The MMA’s Legislative Breakfast Meetings are held each spring and fall in communities across the Commonwealth to give local leaders, legislators and MMA staff an opportunity to network in an informal setting to discuss issues of importance at the local and state level.

The MMA’s Legislative Division staff will discuss the latest activity in the Legislature that has implications for cities and towns. Key discussion topics will include the fiscal 2027 state budget, a fiscal 2026 supplemental spending package funded by “Fair Share” revenue, the transportation infrastructure bond bill, and the PROTECT Act.

Attendees will also get updates on pending bills related to economic development, energy costs, environmental measures, and other legislative priorities.

Municipal officials from every community are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to discuss issues of importance with MMA staff and legislators. Attendees are also urged to contact their local legislators and invite them to attend.

A light breakfast and coffee will be provided at these free meetings beginning at 8:30 a.m. Introductions will begin shortly thereafter, followed by presentations and a Q&A session. The meetings will end by 10:15 a.m.

Please note that the Northampton meeting will begin at 9:15 a.m. and end at 11.

Meetings will be held on the following Fridays:
Oct. 16: Great Barrington and Leicester
Oct. 23: Needham and Westport
Oct. 30: Lowell and Northampton
